Kids' Formation

“Jesus said, ‘Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.’ ” [Matthew 19:14]

Christian formation is a lifelong learning process of hearing and reflecting on the grace of God for us and for others. We are formed in worship, in community, in learning about the Gospel and Scripture, in service, and in fun! Children are invited to serve as acolytes and are invited to join in all our sacraments and rites: Eucharist, baptism, and confirmation. We also provide worship bags, which have a clipboard with an activity to help them reflect on the service, a sensory/fidget toy, and a take-home prayer journal.

On Sundays

  • All ages: On the first Sunday of the month, we offer an interactive communion service. Our next one will be Sunday 12/1/2024 at 9:30am. This service features a lesson taught by our church friends, songs, prayers, and communion. The service is scaled for kids, but not watered down theology--and is highly participatory.

  • School-age: At the 10:30am service, older children are invited to Children's Chapel for Sunday School, starting in the sanctuary and leaving together before the readings; activities, and songs, and will come back into the sanctuary to share in communion! (Currently we offer Chapel on the 1 & 3rd Sundays, and children are ALWAYS welcome in the 10:30am! Look for the canvas tote bags for activities/fidgets/prayer journals for kids)

  • Babies-pre-K: We offer nursery care for kids, so families have a choice about how and when kids join the worship service. Kids of any age are always welcome in the service! Families may pick up the kids after the service or after the exchange of the peace so they can join in Holy Communion. Our nursery is staffed by paid professionals who have completed Safeguarding training. If you need it, we have a changing table in the middle room on the education hall too!

  • Our children's table in the parish hall has books, coloring pages to pick up and family discussion cards for you to take home!
